Caring changes everything

Archwell Health

ArchWell Health brings its innovative primary care model to communities and patients that have often been underserved by traditional healthcare offerings. Under a value-based payment system, the physicians have more time for visits, which allows for deeper, more meaningful relationships with patients – especially with those who are most in need. With a focus on caring for seniors on Medicare or dual plans with Medicare + Medicaid, the ArchWell Health model takes a proactive approach to screenings and preventative care, supporting patients with wellness plans to keep them healthy, active, and enjoying everything life has to offer. The result is a rapidly growing network of ArchWell Health clinics that are truly transforming lives and communities across the U.S.

Triple Aim Partners co-founded and launched ArchWell Health in 2020 and exited in 2023.

“My ArchWell provider took the time to listen to my story, and helped me get things back on track.”
Stephen Mills
ArchWell Health Patient, Phoenix, AZ
PATIENT STORY

From survival mode to engaged patient

As Stephen was approaching his 60th birthday, he was struggling with his weight, diabetes, and hypertension — and the loss of several loved ones. At his first ArchWell Health visit, he was pleasantly surprised when his provider didn’t rush him through the appointment. “She took the time to listen to my story,” he says. “Her understanding and compassion really helped me to get things back on track.” With his provider’s help, he learned how to cut calories, read nutrition labels, and started walking regularly. After 18 months, he lost 46 pounds, and his diabetes and blood pressure are being successfully controlled with medication.
"I joined Archwell Health because their primary care model was truly different from anything I’d seen before: I am able to spend more time with each of my patients and am supported by an incredible care team that partners with me to provide care that is proactive and personalized."
Karina Bailey, MSN, FNP-C
St. Petersburg, FL
COLLEAGUE STORY

Making a difference one patient at a time

Karina joined Archwell Health because of the company’s vision to create primary care centers that, in her words, “care like never before.” As a provider in Tuscon, AZ, she did just that, serving hundreds of seniors in an underserved area. When her husband, an active-duty U.S. Air Force member, was called to relocate, Karina transferred to the St. Petersburg, FL, center where she sees members today. Karina says her proudest moment at the company was on her last day in Tucson when a patient’s husband came in to thank her for finding his wife’s cancer. He said, “things would have turned out differently if you hadn’t cared for her needs.”

CO-FOUNDER STORY

Creating access to care for thousands of people in need

“I was drawn to the opportunity to bring a new model of primary care – one that focused on relationships over transactions – to communities that stood to benefit from improved access to healthcare"
Carl Whitmer
Co-Founder & CEO, ArchWell Health

In 2019, Carl was considering a variety of options for his next opportunity, but one thing he knew he didn’t want was a “turnaround” situation. “TAP builds businesses from scratch so you’re not buying someone else’s mistakes,” he says. “You start with a clean slate.” He also wanted to be involved in something that would impact how healthcare is delivered, by supporting frontline people with capital and leadership. Carl’s goals were consistent with where TAP was headed, and in 2020, Carl and TAP launched Archwell Health. Today, the company has around 100 clinics in 14 states and nearly 2,000 employees.
